LJMA was formed in 2014 by Laura Saggers with a purpose to develop exceptional well rounded musicians in an environment that is supportive, kind and has no time for egos. Her teaching style is very much 'tough love'.

 

The students know she adores them, supports them, sees their shows, cheerleads their successes, talks to and treats them like a beloved sibling but holds them accountable to the highest level that she feels they are capable of and doesn't stand for excuses.

In turn the quality produced across the board is outstanding. Not just in one or two top students, but in everyone. The students leave the academy with a profound sense of achievement and life long friends with many choosing to continue their musical journeys further.

All teachers hired at LJMA are taught to teach with this mentality with many teachers becoming alumni and returning as teachers while furthering their musical career.
